Grand Pa


Purshottam in Hindi means, Pursho main Uttam, i.e. the best amongst men, and so was he, our loved eldest family member. Born on 26thOct 1926 he was the youngest son of Sriman Nathu Ram and Smt.Laiji, being the youngest amongst 10 brothers and sisters he was pampered by his 7 sisters and 2 brothers.

His high confidence could be seen for the first time, when he chose to become a commercial artist. He was chosen for his excellent work and won many scholarships that helped him in his artistic career. Amongst the various challenges that he faced one of the first one was partition of India and Pakistan, but as they say everything happens for a reason, so did this, here he met his beloved wife, partner for 61years and tied Knot with his adorable wife Smt. Sarita on 5th Sep 1951 and this wonderful couple of life time is blessed with 2 Caring Daughters and 3 Obedient Sons.

Glowing Personality:- He was a well-disciplined man with simple living and well defined principals. He was a believer of Punctuality and followed it without fail. He believed in the concept of maximum utilization of self-resources and never took loan or credit of any kind from any one. He greatly justified his responsibilities with his earnings and expenses within his pocket limits and set example in front of others as to how a person should live a dignified life. In the toughest of his time and to overcome it he followed a simple rule “Forget and Forgive”. He loved sharing his stories and learning’s of life with his grand children who listened to them with equal enthusiasm and patience

Career at Glance:- He completed his studies from Mayo College of Arts in the same college as MFHUSSAIN, he was a hard worker and thoroughly committed to his job delivery no matter even if he had to wake up all night and work in the light of oil lamp or a candle. His excellence in arts was proved by his fame in the field of arts and calligraphy. He was the only artist to win TBC awards for Logo designing thrice consecutively. Great people were never ashamed to look for his assistance and to enter his small office which had ambience of high creativity.

He never let his short hearing power affect his career; he rather collated his energies and diversified them on making art pieces.

Spiritual Beliefs:- He was a follower of Arya Samaj and practiced reciting The Geeta every Morning and following on one of the phrases from The GEETA he well proved that:-

(“Human life is the Supreme amongst all the 84Lac Yonis, attempt to be supreme in your actions as well.”)

 He believed and practiced taking a part of his monthly income separate to be utilized for needful people. His practices were simple and where not bounded with timings, starving or any other daily activities.

 Family Values:- He was more of a best friend than any other relation you would like to name him on. His niece and nephew didn’t hesitate calling him there best friend and Mentor. He loved his family from the core of his heart and always remembered every birthday and marriage anniversary of his kids. As he grew with age, his experience became richer with time, but he always remained a child from heart. He loved spending time with his family and celebrating all occasions. He would always be known for his support and care towards his extended family. After the loss of his elder brother he made the pillars of his family stronger than ever before by supporting them, mentally, physically and financially and not to forget unconditional Love.

He lives in our memories and surrounds us all the time with his overwhelming love and care even after leaving this materialistic world on29th May 2012.

His life is a leading example and his principals are the guidelines to lead a simple yet significant life.

He was and would always be our most adorable family member.
